Russell Feit, MD, on Zeinab Arafat

Pain physician, double board-certified in pain medicine and emergency medicine · Certified Spine & Pain Care

BACKGROUND

Russell Feit is a pain physician in Palm Beach County, double board-certified in pain medicine and emergency medicine. He practises at Certified Spine & Pain Care, where he also teaches minimally invasive spine procedures to other physicians. He took his medical degree at Drexel with honours, trained in emergency medicine at Hahnemann, and completed a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at the University of Rochester.

Much of his practice comes by referral, which is how he came to know her work. When a True Compassion patient needs specialty evaluation for a complex pain or spine condition, she is often the one who sends them. He has watched her clinical judgement across three years of shared patients.

FROM ZEINA

A lot of this job is recognising when a patient needs more than an urgent care can give them. The part people talk about less is the decision that comes next, which is who you send them to.

For complicated pain and spine problems, that has been Dr. Feit for about three years now. We were introduced locally, through people who knew both of us. He is board certified in two specialties, pain medicine and emergency medicine, which is an unusual combination, and he teaches the procedures he performs to other physicians.

So when I send a patient to him, I am sending them to someone other doctors go to in order to learn. What I notice on our end is that those patients do come back to us — but for something else entirely, a cold or an injury or something new. They do not come back for the same problem a second time. That tells me it was handled properly.

THE LETTER

Much of my practice is built on referrals, and that is how I came to know Zeinab Arafat and her work.
Making appropriate referrals — recognizing the limits of one's scope of practice and ensuring that patients reach the right specialist at the right time — requires sound clinical judgment, humility, and an unwavering commitment to putting patients first. Zeinab demonstrates those qualities consistently.
Across every patient we have shared, I have encountered the same dedicated clinician: a nurse practitioner with impressive clinical knowledge, sound judgment, and genuine compassion for the people she serves.
We have the privilege of caring for the same community, and it is better served because of her presence.
